An ideal weekend spent discovering the treasures of a town and its local products.
The trip begins with a day in Pau strolling through the lanes near to the castle, then relaxation in the park filled with exotic trees. Then move to the pretty sites of Lescar and Lacommande, stops on the Arles Way towards Saint James of Compostella.
And then, on the outskirts of Henry IV's city, you will discover an extraordinary wine-growing area, which although small is well-known. It produces marvellous exquisite wine which enchants all that drink it.
There, as you walk along the path lined with vines, facing the Pyrenees, you will realize that happiness is ... in the Jurançon hillsides!

Saturday
Morning: audio-guided walk around the town centre ("city package"),
with visit of the National Museum of the Castle of Pau,
then visit of the colourful market which is particularly lively on Saturday mornings.
Midday: you are to free choose where you have lunch in the centre of town
Afternoon: walk / relaxation in the parks and gardens of the town
(you will be given a detailed itinerary), then free time for shopping
Evening: gourmet dinner with seasonal regional specialities

Sunday
Morning (car required): Stop in the heart of the city of Lescar and visit the cathedral.
Departure for the wine road with a first stop at a wine grower's of Monein / Cuqueron.
Midday: lunch in a typical inn at Lacommande, time to explore the village
(the church and commandery are listed).
Afternoon: very beautiful road through the vineyards in the direction of the
Chapelle de Rousse district in Jurançon: second wine-tasting stop.
